Weston Williamson + Partners will be designing two of the five new metro stations on the Yonge Subway Extension in the Toronto and York Region per GTA Construction Report.
The Yonge Subway Extension will extend from Finch Station in Toronto north to Richmond Hill. Younge Street is the economic and cultural spine of the Toronto and York Region and Line 1-Yonge University subway is the busiest line in Canada.

Both of the WW+P stations will be tunnel/bore construction with box stations. Intermodal interchanges are planned at each and at Lanstaff there will be parking spaces for 2,000 vehicles.
"We are excited to be contributing two stations and their associated urban realm to this fantastic project. By improving connectivity across the Greater Toronto Area, the extension will also unlock thousands of new homes and jobs in the area."

The Yonge Subway Extension is projected to carry 165,000 passengers each day on the latest Toronto Rocket six car trains.
According to CBC News, the 7.4 Kilometre line would consist of 5 stops. York Region's transit agency, Viva, calls the extension "the critical missing link" in the GTA's transit network.
The project, however, faces an uncertain future due to its unclear standing among the various transit projects proposed around the GTA. Even though planning work started on the extension earlier this year, there is still no long term funding plan for the actual construction of the project.
"The Yonge subway is the most justifiable subway investment in recent history. This project really continues to be at the front of the line when it comes to the number of people that it would serve. If we turn our back to such an important transit project, there will be further chaos out there."
Markham Mayor | Frank Scarpitti
Doug Ford had promised during his campaign that he would spend $5 billion for expanded subway service in Toronto, although it's not clear where the priority lies among the city's three ongoing subway projects: the Scarborough subway extension, the Yonge subway extension and the downtown relief line.
The federal government has also pledged $8.3 billion for transit projects, though the money is earmarked for all of Ontario.
