Construction plans for the South End Community Centre continue to progress, with the city currently accepting bids to build the $80 million project. Once the bidding period ends, the city has 90 days to select a successful candidate and sign the necessary contracts.

The 165,000 square foot facility is to be built off Clair Road beside Bishop Macdonell Catholic High School, just north of the Larry Pearson baseball complex. It will include:
- 25 metre pool with eight lanes
- Two gyms
- Two ice pads
- Indoor walking track
- Five meeting rooms
Construction is to begin this spring and completed in 2025. Public opening is scheduled in late 2024.
