Related Midwest is unveiling amended plans to build an 18 story office tower right next to their planned skyscraper hotel at a meeting next week in the West Loop. The developer is planning an office tower at 724 W. Washington Boulevard which is right next to their planned 58 story Equinox hotel/condo tower at 725 W. Randolph Street per Block Club Chicago.
Related Midwest also wants to add more units in his Equinox hotel/condo. Even though the City Council approved 370 condos and 165 hotel rooms, the developer now wants to build the 615 foot tall tower with 370 residential units and 240 hotel rooms.
If the new plan for the Equinox hotel is approved, the zoning documents will also include the following:
- 30,000 square foot club
- Restaurant
- Fifth floor amenity deck
- 50 parking spaces
A zoning application was filed with the city in October for the 18 story office tower which is located where a Bank of America is right now.
According to Crain's Chicago Business, Cook County property records show a Related Midwest venture paid $20 million in August for a large portion of that block along Washington Boulevard.
