Infrastructure Ontario has invited five prequalified companies to respond to a request for proposals to build and finance the Orleans Health Hub project per Ontario Construction Report

A 96,000 square foot structure will be built in the eastern Ottawa suburban community at the corner of Mer-Bleu Road and Brian Coburn Boulevard.

The following are the pre-qualified companies:

1. Amico Affiliates

2. Buttcon Limited

3. EllisDon Corporation Inc.

4. PCL Constructors Canada Inc.

5. Pomerleau Inc.

These companies were selected based on criteria described in a Request for Qualifications process that started in January 2018. This included construction capability, experience, qualified personnel and financial capacity to deliver a project of this size and scope.

These companies will now prepare proposals that explains how they will deliver the project. Once these proposals are received, IO and Hopital Montfort will check out their submissions, decide on a preferred bidder and then negotiate a final contract. The successful bidder will be announced in the summer of 2019. A fairness monitor will oversee the entire procurement process.

A copy of the RFP is available here.

Participating organizations include the following:

 - Bruyere Continuing Care

 - Champlain LHIN

 - Children's Hospital of Eastern Ontario (CHEO)

 - Eastern Ottawa Resource Centre (EORC)

 - Geriatric Psychiatry Community Services of Ottawa (GPCSO)

 - Hopital Montfort

 - Youth Services Bureau of Ottawa

According to Hopital Montfort, this project demonstrates the new government's commitment to this innovative project that will bring together a range of specialized and community care under one roof.

"The Orleans Health Hub will allow several health care providers to collaborate to provide client and family centered care in both official languages. Ultimately, this model aims to provide effective care and make better use of the resources of the health system."

Project Director of the Hub | Melanie Potyin

The logo that will represent the Orleans Health Hub was recently unveiled after consultations with the Hub's partners and patient-partners.

A major fundraising campaign, led by the Montfort Hospital Foundation will soon be launched to support the financing of the Hub. HDR Architecture Associates now has sketches of the plans for the Hub.

The Orleans Health Hub will be a unique and innovative model bringing under one roof a wide range of specialized and community healthcare services for patients with several chronic conditions requiring coordinated care. In addition, once the project is finished, the residents of the greater Orleans area, from newborns to seniors, will have access to integrated programs close to home, focused on their needs.

In July 2016, Ontario's Ministry of Health and Long term Care made an investment of over $5 million in order to complete the Health Hub's health services planning as well as the development of architectural plans. Montfort's team and its partners are working on the project's progress while respecting the ministry's planning processes.

The following services will be available at the Health Hub:

 - Counseling

 - Day programs

 - Home support

 - Specialized services

 - Mental Health

 - Dermatology

 - Orthopaedics

 - Pediatrics

 - Psychiatry

 - Geriatrics

 - Diagnostic imaging

 - Rehabilitation
