NexGen Hotels is planning to build a $16 million, 107 suite hotel a few miles from O'Hare Airport. Itasca Hotel Company announced it would build a 63,000 square foot Home2 Suites by Hilton and plan on being open by the summer of 2022. It will be located at 1700 S. Higgins Road in Des Plaines. Biz Journal states that Alpharetta, Georgia-based Origination Design is the Architect and NexGen Hotels is the general contractor and developer for this project. Genuine Hospitality Group will manage the hotel once it is built.
The groundbreaking is expected to begin in April, 2021.

An article in Hospitality Net states Home2 Suites by Hilton is designed for both short-term and extended stay guests seeking eco-friendly experiences. The property will feature the following:

- Combination fitness and laundry facility called Spin2 Cycle
