Massive All-new Arcade Bar coming to Barrie

Cineplex has announced that the new Rec Room will be coming to Barrie, Ontario. The building will take up 32,000 square feet of prime real estate at Park Place in the heart of Barrie according to Narcity.

The new location will also include a massive attractions area with over 100 amusement games, six bowling lanes and rows of ping pong, air hockey and pool tables. 

There will also be an entire virtual reality gaming section, a massive stage setup and performance space, including a huge bar and restaurant with various menu options.

This will be the fourth location to open in Ontario and will attract thousands of locals from surrounding areas. The location is at the northeast corner of the Park Place shopping centre.

The first phase of construction is expected to begin in the spring of 2019 with an opening date of the summer of 2020.

Per Newswire, the casual dining area, called THREE10 will feature a menu of delicious shareables and handcrafted dishes including fresh salads, smoked cheddar mac and cheese, rotisserie chicken, wood-fired pizza, steak and ribs and the Rec Room's signature THREE10 burger. The Rec Room will also have a huge bar area where sports fans can grab a drink, share a bite and catch the big game on even bigger screens.

The Rec Room features an overall guest experience that integrates the latest in technology, along with SCENE, Canada's leading entertainment rewards program.

This will be their 10th location nationwide and will be built with the support of North American Development Group. Cineplex plans to open 10-15 new locations of the Rec Room over the coming years, each ranging in size from 30,000 to 50,000 square feet and customized to the individual community.

The company currently has five other locations of The Rec Room in South Edmonton (AB), West Edmonton Mall (AB), Calgary (AB), Toronto (ON), and London (ON) and has announced plans for complexes in Mississauga (ON), St. John's (NFLD), Vancouver (BC) and Winnipeg (MB). Cineplex also has plans to open 10-15 Playdium locations. These are entertainment complexes designed for teens, their friends and family in mid-sized communities all across the country over the coming years.
