Kipling Station Condo Tower Coming to Etobicoke

Kipling Station Condo Tower Coming to Etobicoke

As urban centres continue to evolve, the commercial construction industry is playing a critical role in shaping the future of our cities. A prime example of this is the upcoming Kipling Station Condos in Etobicoke, a project that promises to redefine the local skyline and bring high-density living to a rapidly transitioning neighbourhood.

The development, positioned at a unique intersection of transit access points, capitalizes on its proximity to the upcoming Kipling Transit Hub. This Metrolinx project will create an invaluable link between the TTC, Go Train and MiWay Mississauga, providing residents of the Kipling Station Condos seamless connectivity to the city and beyond.

CentreCourt, the developer behind this 50-storey residential tower, anticipates a significant transformation of the area in the coming years. According to Gavin Cheung, the company's president, an additional 35 residential towers are expected to rise within the neighbourhood.

The National Post states that the design of the Kipling Station Condos is a key differentiator. B+H Architects have created a striking facade with sculptural features to give the illusion of movement. Stephanie Maignan, senior design architect at B+H, explains how the classic "golden ratio" was used to divide the building into different design segments and create a sense of movement and rotation. The result is a stylized tower with a contemporary yet minimalist aesthetic, poised to bring a fresh visual contrast to the neighbourhood.

The Kipling Station Condos is set to offer a competitive entry point into the housing market, with studio units starting in the $400,000s. The largest unit, a three-bedroom suite, begins in the $900,000s. The building's interiors are inspired by vintage European trains, reflecting the development's foundational story of transit and ease of transportation.

Residents will enjoy a host of amenities, including:

 - 22,000 square feet of indoor and outdoor spaces

 - Barbecues, dining areas and firepits

 - Outdoor dog run

 - Fitness centre

 - Private boardrooms and social media rooms

 - Access to a virtual medical service courtesy of a satellite Cleveland Clinic on the

The building is currently in the preconstruction phase, and the developer CentreCourt has submitted applications for Zoning By-law Amendment and Site Plan Approval. The mixed-use condominium, located at the corner of Dundas Street West and Subway Crescent, is part of the Etobicoke Centre Secondary Plan area, which includes 50 projects aimed at improving the public realm and streetscape. These developments will include parks, mobility infrastructure improvements, and more.

The plans for the Kipling Station Condos indicate a commitment to community and sustainability, featuring ample sidewalk zones, a Privately-Owned Publicly accessible Space (POPS), and robust cycling infrastructure. The building will also provide parking facilities, including two levels of underground parking and a retained surface parking lot.

All of these elements make the Kipling Station Condos a compelling example of modern urban living – a place where functionality, design, and sustainability converge to create a vibrant community. As the commercial construction industry continues to drive change and innovation, projects like these stand as testaments to the evolving nature of our urban landscapes.
