JK Equities is starting construction on a seven-story, 42 unit luxury condominium in Chicago's West Loop located at 1400 Monroe. Summit Design + Build is leading the construction which is expected to be completed by the summer of 2021. The architecture firm is Booth Hansen which is based in Chicago according to Biz Journals.
Booth Hansen designed this project to create harmony between the neighborhood's industrial past and today's modern design. The facade will feature grey brick together with metal detailing and industrial sized windows that will bring in a lot of natural light.
The residences will feature the following:
- Open-concept floor plans designed for space efficiency
- Over-sized kitchens
- Large balconies for entertaining or Juliet balconies
- Some homes on the second floor will have expansive outdoor terraces
The location couldn't be better with close proximity to Skinner West Elementary School, Skinner Park and downtown.
Before construction has even begun, the condos are already over 40% sold with sales led by ON Collaborative. The residences will be designed by New York based Mojo Stumer.
Sizes range from 1,242 to 1,958 square feet and offer two and three bedroom layouts. The prices will start at the $760,000 and go up to $1.39 million.

Lakeside Bank is financing the construction loan. 1400 West Monroe Street was acquired by JK Equities in August of 2018.
