french language school proposed for val therese

The Ontario Ministry of Education announced that it will provide funding for the purchase of a property that will serve for the construction of a new French-language Catholic school in Hanmer/Val Therese.

My Algoma states that Conseil scolaire catholique Nouvelon has already received the capital funding for the construction and will now be able to proceed with building a new school for students currently enrolled at Ecole Notre-Dame (Hanmer), Ecole St-Joseph (Hanmer) and Ecole Ste-Therese (Val Therese). The CSC Nouvelon hopes to disclose the site selected for this project in the next few weeks.

"From modernizing our curriculum to revitalizing our classrooms and their facilities, we are investing in our students and giving them every tool to achieve their full potential. Our financing of the land purchase further demonstrates our government's historic investment in Ontario's schools and our overall commitment to supporting our students and families."

Minister of Education | Stephen Lecce

Mr. Andre Bidal, CSC Nouvelon President stated that this project would provide modern learning space for the students as well as a healthy and safe environment focused on religion.

"During our consultation process, our families stated their desire to offer students an appealing and user-friendly environment that will allow them to thrive in a green school designed for their future needs in this digital era. While respecting this wish, we will seek to offer our students and staff a new school that will meet their expectations and needs."

CSC Nouvelon Director of Education & Secretary Treasurer | Mr. Paul Henry

According to Northern Ontario CTV News, the $930,238 investment will provide the location for the new learning environment for the students and is part of the province's capital investment program to support students with better learning spaces.
