A CMS five star rated facility called Wauconda Care has received approval for a 42 bed expansion at 176 Thomas Court. The expansion will be built on land behind the facility. Wauconda Care bought the land several years ago.
The Lake County Journal states that this project was in the planning stages for more than a year and finally got the licensing approval by the Illinois Department of Public Health and also approval by the village of Wauconda.
The expansion includes the following:
- Construction of a new wing with 42 private rooms with private baths
- A second state-of-the-art therapy room
- Renovated dining room
- Construction of a new main entrance
- Improved parking with easier access
Construction is expected to be completed in late winter of 2021 or early spring of 2022.
