Assembly Park being Launched in Massive Mixed-use Community

QuadReal Property Group and partner Menkes Developments Ltd. have announced the official launch of Assembly Park. This is a master planned, multi-faceted, mixed-use development located at Highway 400 between Highways 407 and 7 in the Vaughan Metropolitan Centre. This could end up being the new downtown for the City and the soul of the Vaughan Metropolitan Centre.

Urban Toronto states that Assembly Park will become a pedestrian-first hub of diverse and modern housing options and will also include:

  - Office spaces

  - Retail experiences

  - New schools that will fit up to 700 children

  - An extensive network of green parkland

  - Socially-oriented public spaces

Giannone Petricone Associates and IBI Group designed this project and QuadReal and Menkes have already sold the first of several slated residential projects at Assembly Park. Mobilio, designed by Turner Fleischer Architects, is well under construction and Festival Condos, designed by IBI Group, which broke ground earlier this year is scheduled to be completed in late 2024. Also sold are the two towers of Grand Festival. Bravo, the third and final phase of Festival, is the latest to be launched.

A DataBid Blog titled Developers Break Ground at Huge Mixed-Use Development in Vaughan states that the development called Festival will include the tallest building tower in the City's centre, standing at 59 storeys. The Festival development will be constructed in phases and will include:

 - Homes for more than 4,500 residents

 - Feature total of 2,470 residential suites between its four towers

 - An animated central plaza

 - 85,000 feet of commercial space for dining, shopping and lifestyle services

Urban Toronto reports that Assembly Park is well connected to Toronto via Vaughan Metropolitan Centre subway station, as well as the rest of Vaughan, York Region, and Brampton via the Viva and ZUM Bus Rapid Transit hubs that are located at the base of Transit City Condos.

Assembly Park is projected for completion in 2034. Until then, a few temporary community spaces called The Studios, The Square, and The Gardens have begun to take shape on the property. These spaces will eventually find permanent homes in new projects as the neighbourhood takes shape.
