Amica Properties is planning to build a new, larger seniors care facility at 155 Balmoral Avenue in Toronto. The new building will span across 145, 147 and 155 Balmoral Avenue and include a 15 storey mid-rise portion that will terrace down to three-storeys and would include 147 rental units per Ontario Construction Report.

This new building will replace the current Amica Balmoral Club. Amica Properties has filed an application to the City of Toronto for zoning and official plan amendments to allow for the construction of a 15 storey center.

The building would include 25 parking spaces and two barrier-free spaces and also 41 bicycle parking spaces.

The current Amica Balmoral Club is a four storey, c-shaped retirement residence.

According to Toronto.com, the city councillor for Toronto-St. Paul's - and city planning staff held a public consultation meeting about the proposal on March 20 at the First Unitarian Congregation of Toronto. Results from that meeting will be released shortly.

The new facility would provide patient services such as memory care and assisted living for residents.
